Floral notes abound in this bouquet, particularly violet, rose, and dogwood. Hints of leather and spice are present as well. This is a dry, full-bodied wine that is quite tannic, yet well-balanced. It is velvety on the palate with a long, persistent finish.
Wine maker notes
Nebbiolo is cultivated from hand-selected vineyards in the DOCG appellation of Barolo to create this balanced rendition. Floral notes of rose, dogwood, and violet compose the bouquet. Dark fruit and hints of leather and spice are present on the dry palate with round, yet structured tannins pervading the long, persistent finish. Aged for 2 years in large French and Slavonian oak barrels, it is cellared for 1 year in bottle.
Stands up well to hearty dishes, including game, beefy stews, and truffles.
